Happy Easter 2019

Happy Solemnity of the Lord's Resurrection! I have been suffering from what I call "Easter hangover." Not because I've been drinking, but because I've been doing too many liturgies! Here are a few shots from Palm Sunday (1-3).

The night before, the Youth Group gathered to play music, eat pizzas and fold palms in the shape of crosses (1). They do this every year here in Kellyville. The fronds come from a parishioner's palms.

Here is the church decorated and ready for the Vigil Mass of Palm Sunday (2-3). These other shots are of that same Youth Group during the Stations of the Cross; every year they act out the 14 Stations at 10 am on Good Friday (4-7). As you can see, we get a good sized crowd. It is performed at the steps of our Shrine of the Holy Innocents.

And now we come to the great Easter Vigil. The Holy Fire is set up outside, by the statue of the Blessed Mother with the Children. Here are those who helped prepapre it (2), from left to right: Jacob, Andrew and Br. Dominic. We have no real flowers bloomming at this Autumn time of the year in Australia, so I use artificial flowers to decorate the Church at Easter. However, the glorious pink roses around the Tabernacle are real—really big this year, too (6-8). The last photo in this gallery is of the friars as we gathered at Easter dinner, which was kindly prepared by a parishioner and left for us to eat. Pictured left to right are: Br. Bernard, myself, Fr. David, Br. Dominic and Fr. Gerard.

This collection of pictures is a miscellaneous lot of nature shots. We had some strange and powerful storms come through prior to Easter that created spectacular skies and rainbows at sunset. With all the rain, bottlebrush opened up. And rainbow lorikeets appeared daily to suck up the nectar. Truly magnificent colors and perfect for Easter!
