I'm Blue

I did just about the bravest thing I have ever done! I touched my first "blue-tongue." It's a lizard with a blur tongue, of course. You can see it in the one image. That thing sticking out of it's mouth is it's tongue. The creature was wandering around the children's playground after recess (what they call "morning tea"). I asked a teacher if we should call a herpetologist or something, wondering if it was safe for it to be around. i was told they aren't venomous. So I got in closer as it tried to get away. I wanted to catch it's famous tongue for you, so I pulled the critter out of the bushes by it's tail! (Yuck!) It hissed the whole time and puffed up its body to look bigger, but finally agreed to one shot if I left it alone. Viola! For your enjoyment: the famous blur-tongue of Australia! (It's about the length of my arm from elbow to finger tip.)
